  • Why do I need a travel agent?

    A travel agent is an expert who understands everything associated with planning and booking your perfect trip. They can give you advice on places to go, as well as how much money you’ll need to spend and how much time you might want to spend at your destination. It’s helpful to have an expert plan your trip in order to develop the most efficient itinerary and get the most out of your limited vacation days.

  • Why should I book my trip with Wander + Whimsy?

    At Wander + Whimsy, we aren’t just travel agents by trade, we are experienced and passionate travelers ourselves and we’re on a mission to help others discover their unique love of travel, too. We aren’t like other travel agencies that sell cookie cutter trips, either. Planning a trip with us offers a whole lot of personalization you won’t get just anywhere. With our process, no two trips are the same, because it’s very unlikely you’ll want your trip exactly the way as someone else. So, based on your specific needs, we will build your custom itineraries to inspire you and guide you through the world in a more intentional way, connecting you with places and experiences you may not have been guided to if you went elsewhere for your travel planning. We want you to be refreshed and revitalized when you return home, happy that you did everything right with your precious time away.

  • Does it cost money to use your services?

    It is not as easy as a yes or no answer, but your first step in inquiring should be to fill out our Trip Planning Form. We will then reach out after we’ve reviewed your form, and during this first, complimentary consultation, we will be happy to walk you through our trip planning process to see if we’re a good fit. We will go over our fee schedule based on your precise needs and if you want to move forward, that’s when we kick into gear and start designing your perfect vacation! Your trip planning fee will be based on number of travelers, destinations and desired level of service (i.e. The Essentials, Full Service, Elopement Planning, A la Carte). There will never be hidden costs, however, as we will always be up front about our fees before we start planning your trip. The fee is charged before the planning starts and is nonrefundable.

  • Who can use our services?

    We pride ourselves in being inclusive and open to booking arrangements for all people. No matter what your needs or restrictions may be, we will do our best to accommodate you and provide you with a great experience. You can rest assured you are in good hands when you travel gets designed through us.

  • How do I set up a consultation with Wander + Whimsy Travels?

    The first think you need to do is check our Our Services. After you get an understanding of what we do, you should fill out the Trip Planning Form. Once we receive that, we will reach out to schedule your initial consultation. It’s that easy!     Whatever method you choose, be sure to do so well in advance of when you plan on traveling, as good travel agents tend to book up quickly during peak travel periods.

  • Can I make changes to the services proposal?

    Once we have agreed upon the general parameters of your trip, we will create the initial services proposal. This is not the final itinerary, just a starting point to get us on the right track to designing your adventure. The more we work together on your travel plans, the better we will be able to know your specific style. As you continue to provide specific feedback we will make changes until your itinerary is just right!

  • What is the best way to communicate during this process?

    During the planning process, email communication is best. This allows us to keep track of anything that is discussed. All emails will be answered as soon as possible. If you prefer a phone call you may schedule it with us at our earliest convenience. While you are traveling, Wander + Whimsy Travels will be available for you as much as possible. As time zones may make it difficult to answer immediately, you will often have local booking contacts available to help with any issues that may arise. You will receive those contact details with your final itinerary.

  • What if I plan a trip and then decide I want to go in a different direction?

    Since the work we do involves custom trip planning, the time spent on your trip is uniquely yours. Starting from scratch is absolutely possible, but will require another trip planning fee.

  • Do you book group travel?

    Yes, we can book your group travel! We are able to help groups of all sizes plan their dream trips. From family reunions to intimate elopements, to your high school besties getaway, we can take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy your time away.

  • Do I need travel insurance?

    Yes. We highly recommend travel protection, it’s important to protect your trip investment and loved ones. We will offer you the best option for your vacation.

  • When can I book my trip with Wander + Whimsy Travels?

    You can book your trip with us at any time. We are available to help you plan your next adventure, and we offer a wide range of services, including flight and hotel bookings, tours and activities, weekend getaways and intimate weddings and elopements. So whether you are planning a last-minute getaway or a long-awaited vacation, we can help you make it happen.

  • I have a disability. Can you help me arrange my trip?

    Yes, of course! We will work with you to select the most appropriate accommodation and transportation choices for your specific needs.

  • Will you be available while I'm on vacation?

    Yes, we will be available to answer any questions or address any concerns that you may have. You can get in touch with us and we will respond within a reasonable amount of time. We are committed to providing the best possible service and helping our clients create memorable vacations that they will always remember. 

  • Do you offer planning worldwide?

    Yes! Here at Wander + Whimsy Travels we design all types of trips to all types of destinations from local weekend getaways, luxe honeymoons and remote adventures and everything in between. We look forward to designing your one-of-a-kind vacation!

  • What if I need to cancel my trip?

    If you need to cancel or reschedule your trip, you’ll work with your travel insurance to work out getting your money back or rescheduling your itinerary, but your trip planning fee is non-refundable. If your trip needs to be rescheduled, there will be a small, additional trip planning fee attached to the new dates in order for us to rearrange the itinerary.

  • When will I see my final itinerary?

    You will receive your final itinerary 10-14 days before departure. You will receive a digital and a hard copy of all your information.

  • What about COVID-19 and travel?

    We will work to verify all the information necessary for safe travel throughout your itinerary. Every country has its own rules and regulations, so we will advise you on how this might affect your stay, such as whether beaches are open or if there’s a curfew in place, and if restaurants and bars are open or if they’re only doing outdoor dining or take-out or if there are mask mandates are in place. We will also explain the steps you may need to take when you come home as well. We will help you explore what destinations are safe if that is of a concern to you.
